Jesus Christ Cannot Be Avoided!

Jesus Christ cannot be avoided at this time of year.  His coming into the world changed a lot of things, including the calendar.
Special men have influenced the calendar:
Julius Caesar (July) and Augustus Caesar (August).  But Jesus changed our world from a world B.C. (Before Christ) to a world A.D. (Anno Domini).  This year we write '2012' and next year (God willing) we shall write '2013' because of Him.

Jesus’ birth was unique.  We read in the Bible, God’s word, that that which was conceived in the virgin Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit. We came by procreation, but He came by incarnation.  His miraculous conception made Him uniquely the Son of the Living God.
He showed by His words and deeds that He was Immanuel or 'God with us'.

Question: What would you expect of a man, who said he was the Son of God?   Surely, you would expect him to be the greatest of teachers.  You would expect him to be able to perform miracles: to heal immediately the sick, the deaf, the blind and the lame.  You would expect him to raise the dead.  If killed, you would also expect him to triumph over death and the grave.  Only Jesus Christ measures up to such expectations.

Dear reader, if you believe in moral values like goodness, faithfulness, honesty and integrity then you should support Jesus Christ.  More than that, you should welcome Him into your life.  Because He is alive, He can change you, and change you for the better and forever.  No one is good enough to do without Jesus.  The good book says: "For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" and "Christ Jesus came into this world to save sinners".   We should, therefore, love Him, serve Him and obey Him.  None should fear to do what is right, and the right thing to do is to fear Him i.e. to hold Him in awe and reverence.

This article was written by Ian Davidson of the Dalziel Street Church of Christ, Motherwell which is anxious to help you follow the Master.  We all love Him and want to share Him with our neighbours.  To us, He is simply the Way, the Truth and the Life.  He is our light, our joy and our hope in a world of darkness, sorrow and despair.  In truth, He is our everything; He is our all.
